“GRYFFINDOR!”
“SLYTHERIN!”
This whole situation started off innocently enough, with a friendship between two people. Salazar Slytherin and Gordic Gryffindor, two of the founders of Hogwarts. They used to be best friends, but they were driven apart by a disagreement, a disagreement on how the school should be run. Salazar was adamant on the idea that only students of pure-blood could and should be accepted at Hogwarts. However, Gordic believed that any student that possessed magical talent should be allowed into the school. Eventually Salazar left the school, leaving behind a legacy that would continue for generations to come. A legacy that continues on even to this day.

“FOOD FIGHT!”
The chant had become a nightly ritual, started by the seventh years of both houses. Each evening during dinner, one house was bound to start up the chant, to fire up the other house. Usually, the chanting was broken by food fights, which eventually grew to include the whole school. The teachers were helpless, no matter what they did, they couldn’t stop the incidents. Patrolling the tables didn’t help, a pie was just thrown behind the teacher’s back. And the teacher’s couldn’t keep an eye on the students for every single minute of the meal, they had other things to attend to. Besides, it wasn’t like they didn’t have their own opinion on the houses.

“Shhh... come on!”
Then, the whole situation was blown out of proportions. Suddenly, pranks were being pulled by individual students on other students. Bugs were found in the Gryffindor’s food and snakes were found in the Slytherin’s beds. However, there was no direct evidence pointing towards any individuals, the students of each house stood up for each other and covered for each other. The situation grew so out of control that one morning, the Slytherin’s woke up to find their common room re-decorated with the colors and hangings of Gryffindor, something that infuriated them.

“Get away from me, you filthy mudblood!”
Suddenly, the whole school was involved. Tensions only rose each day, duels happening both in corridors and out on the lawns. First years were used as examples by the older students, and they were often sent running back into their common rooms for help. Even Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs began joining in the fights, some teaming up with the Slytherins and some teaming up with the Gryffindors. Now, even the halls were unsafe, and groups of students could be seen walking through the halls, their hands on their wands.

So, what will happen now?
